One Word Project

I really kept asking why.

Why was this idea coming to me over and over again? It honestly just felt incredibly risky. I never wanted to create an art line, it is too vulnerable. What if nobody found it interesting enough to buy into? I need to make a living, as well.

Anxiety.

Well, hello, my familiar nemesis.

The tightness in my chest was an almost debilitating reminder that vulnerability has been a struggle of mine my entire life. So it only makes sense that I want my business to be crafting beauty for others, based off of their desires, not mine.

Yet, the idea could not be pushed out of my mind. So, I buckled up, and got going on it.

My desire was to create something beautiful, hand crafted, and meaningful. I also knew that if I was going to actually follow through, I would want to get professional pictures taken of my art line.

So I got my beautiful hand made paper in, I knew that I was going to use a brush pen to write, and hired my photographer. Lastly, I knew I needed to hand pick some dear friends of mine who would catch my vision, and want to be apart of my project.

The one word project was born out of a desire to help people connect, and to give individuals a platform to share meaningful stories.

Have you ever sat down with someone and listened to their life story? A testimony of a joyful time? Have you ever sat with tears in your eyes and a lump in your throat, empathizing with a friend who has suffered serious abuse in their past? Seeing the hurt and hardship in their eyes, and hearing the tinge of pain in their voice as they share with you? Have you joined friends around the table and laughed with tears, hearing the embarrassment in your friends voice as he shares a funny story?

It is my vision to capture the hard and the harmonious stories of friends, and put them into the world. So maybe we can all find and relate to stories we haven't heard before. Maybe we can glean a meaningful moral from a strangers story.

All of these beautiful life stories, summed up into single words. Written out by a calligrapher with a passion. Placed onto beautifully handcrafted, deckled-edged paper.

Will you join me in my One Word Project? Follow along and be inspired by those bold enough to share their stories with the world.

Connect with the lives of people around you.

Maybe start a meaningful movement with me.

Thank you,

Anna
